Our story

The company's founder, Sigurd, was originally a farmer, but he wanted to seek new opportunities out on the open sea, and in 1928 he bought the island of Langbakken. It was here that he began producing clipfish.

His sons Edvin and Sigurd Bjarne joined the company early on. They bought the coastal freighter Eos, which they used to transport fresh and salted fish along the coast. In 1999, Edvin's son Sigbjørn took over main responsibility for the business. After running it through good times and bad for more than 20 years, his son Emil took over at the end of 2021, as the fourth generation of the family.

Over the past 20 years, our revenue has grown tenfold, and the company now has around 25 employees. Despite big changes over time, our focus on quality has never changed. Just as almost 100 years ago, we sell fish products made from the finest raw materials.

Quality at every stage

Good quality starts with the raw material. We are careful about which fish we take in, and we follow the same principles for salting, drying and filleting that the family has built up experience with over four generations. Combining traditional craft with modern equipment lets us deliver consistent quality, whether it's a small order or a large volume for a regular business customer.
